Introduction to gun control
How much gun violence have you witnessed or has occurred in your state? Even though the media does not report every event, the news still plays a role by portraying some.As I was growing up in New York,gun violence happened almost every week. The most shocking part is that these incidents did not happen in my neighborhood alone.You can imagine about the rest of New York.One night I was on my bed and all of a sudden I heard a shootout on the street. It was a gang versus another gang and several people died.Would gun control laws prevent that from happening? Gun control laws is applied in all states,but is it really effective as people ponder? In reducing crimes,gun control laws is not effective.Gun control will never be effective unless other things are taken into consideration.

Research Proposal Presentations
Majority of the classmates' research presentation was creative and straight to the point. However, I have noticed common issues including myself when presenting.As a whole, the students had little to no eyes contact with the other students and projecting their voice was a slight issue.Also, I have noticed students start out to be nervous and then become confident towards the middle.They need to be more confident from the beginning to the end.Individually some students did an excellent job of having evidence to support their claim. On the other hand, some students like me needed more information.A few classmates' presentations were not clear and needed to focus on a single idea.
As for me, I needed more eye contact and more evidence to support my thesis.To improve these issues students need to ask the teacher for their help or input on their presentation before presenting it to the class, take deep breaths before speaking, and students should pretend they are talking to friends to make them confident and more comfortable to speak.

Why did I choose Gun Control as a topic?
This topic interests me because there are many aspects of gun control issues even with facts.It is one of the hot problems that is going on today, especially with the recent school shooting in Florida.This topic also appeals to me because it seems like it contradicts the 2nd amendment.If it appears to oppose it, it can reflect on the government poorly, making people believe they do not stand by their words or laws.This issue may never come to a solution, but it is interesting to hear people's input about it.
Who are my audiences?
My audiences include parents, children, and the NRA.The reason for parents and children because they can support that gun control laws are not sufficient, due to the school shootings and any experiences they might have to deal with guns.This topic can have an emotional effect on them.The NRA is also a target audience is because according to the websites below they are fighting for people to own guns and to protect the 2nd amendment.This means criminals and the mentally ill can have the privilege of owning guns.The NRA would be interested in this topic because they are being called out for aiding in gun control not being effective.
